HI friends! I hope you had a fabulous September. Here in Central Indiana, we had temperatures that ranged from the high forties to the low nineties. About the only thing we didn't have much of was rain. It's pretty dry around here, but I'm not going to complain, given the challenges our friends to the South and are facing. I hope you all are safe and happy on this first day of October.
October is my favorite month of the year. I love the cooler temperatures, football, colorful leaves, and all things Halloween. It's also the birth month for both my wonderful wife and me. Mine is on the 11th and hers is on the 13th. I like to joke that I'm lucky since I know when m birthday rolls around, I still have two days to get her a birthday present! :-)
Another great thing about October is that it's the month in which my upcoming cozy mystery, A Literal Mess, takes place. Without giving too much away, the story follows my heroine sleuth Allie Cobb as she returns to her hometown of Rushing Creek, Indiana and suddenly finds herself investigating the murder of her best friend's father, who also happens to be a bestselling author. Throughout the story, I get to drop in touches of the best parts of October in Indiana. There are leaves in all sorts of colors, cool mornings and sunny afternoons, and most fun of all--Fall Festivals.
I hope you all have a wonderful October, full of fun tricks and tasty treats. Until next time, wishing you clear skies and warm drinks!
