Catching Up with J.C. Kenney
Hi, friend! It's been a minute since I checked in. Since then, a lot has happened, so I thought I'd give you an update. First off, I have a new author photo! J.C. Kenney having a laugh. Hey, if you can't have fun writing stories, what's the point? Know what I mean?

Book Report
I'm pleased to report that book three of my Darcy Gaughan Mysteries series, currently titled Magic Box Murder, is almost finished! I'll be turning it in to my editor in about a month. It should be available everywhere you can purchase books around March 1, 2024.
Book one of my new Elmo Simpson Mysteries series, Panic in the Panhandle is on schedule for its release in September 2024. I'll be sure to let you know about details when they become available.
J.C. in the Wild
It's been a busy summer. I got to spend a few days at the Sleuthfest Mystery Conference in South Florida. It was four days of complete immersion in the mystery world. I even got to present at two sessions, along with attending a bunch of others, and met so many friendly mystery authors and fans. It was also exciting to see my Darcy Gaughan mysteries at the bookstore! If you have the opportunity, do yourself a favor and go to Sleuthfest. You won't regret it!

I also took a weekend for my annual writing retreat. It was wonderful opportunity to focus on writing with very few distractions (Maria was not around to demand I feed her and let her sit on my lap!).

If you're in the Central Indiana area on September 10, I'll be at the Harvest Fest in Fishers, Indiana. You'll be able to find me hanging out in the authors' tent with a great group of writers. Would love to see you!
That's it for now. Thanks for spending a few minutes with me. Until next time, wishing you sunny skies and warm breezes!
