Out of My Comfort Zone
Hi, friends! I hope you're having a great week. As I count the days until the release of A Literal Mess, I'm keeping busy by writing book two in the Allie Cobb mysteries, which is tentatively called A Genuine Fix. It's been a fun challenge writing another book in a small town, mystery series as my cast of characters grows, along with key information on each and every one of them!
The challenge of writing a series with recurring characters and landmarks has forced me out of my comfort zone as a writer. Not unlike a trip to New York City my wife and I recently took.

To be honest, I've always been a little fearful of visiting the Big Apple. The stories I've heard of it being so big, so loud, so overwhelming made me a hesitant to visit, since I'm more of a fan of a quiet beach. A once in a lifetime opportunity arose, though, so we took it and spent a whirlwind four days in The City.

And had an amazing trip!
We took in the sights, saw a Broadway show, visited historic landmarks, and made memories that will last a lifetime. The trip confirmed everything I'd heard about New York-and then some!

I'm so thankful I stepped out of my comfort zone and made the trip. How about you all, have you ever stepped out of your comfort zone and, in the process, made a memory? I'd love to hear about it!
Until next time, wishing you sunny skies and smiling faces!
